Sheena R. Hamilton Elected to United Way of Greater St. Louis Board of Directors
Sheena R. Hamilton, an attorney at Dowd Bennett LLP, has been elected to a three year term on the United Way of Greater St. Louis’ Board of Directors. The UWGSL’s Board is made up of volunteers from all segments of the community. The Board meets quarterly to set the strategic direction of the organization as it efficiently raises and allocates funds to support a strong network of quality agencies and services; provides information, management, and technical resources; identifies critical issues and unmet needs; and builds collaborations with the public and private sectors to meet those needs.
In connection with her service on the Board, Hamilton will be a member of the Charmaine Chapman Society Leadership Cabinet. The Society was formed in 1994 by Dr. Donald Suggs, publisher of The St. Louis American, and honors the first woman and first African American to head the United Way of Greater St. Louis, Charmaine Chapman. The Society is now the #1 philanthropic program for African Americans in the St. Louis region and throughout the country. More than 850 local individuals make an annual commitment to our region through the Charmaine Chapman Leadership Society.
