Five Dowd Bennett Partners are Named to 2024 Missouri Super Lawyers List
Super Lawyers, a company that rates lawyers using surveys and peer review, recently announced that five Dowd Bennett partners are included on their list of Missouri Super Lawyers, which includes fewer than five percent of the lawyers in the state.
Jim Bennett has been named to the Super Lawyers list in the area of business litigation each year since 2005. This year he also was named one of the Top 50 St. Louis lawyers for the thirteenth time, as well as one of the top 100 lawyers in Missouri. Jim Bennett tries cases. Last year he won a directed verdict for a consumer product manufacturer at the close of the plaintiff’s case in a mass tort case where the plaintiff claimed the product had caused his cancer. The Courtroom View Network rated that win as second on its 2023 list of the most impressive U.S. defense verdicts.
Super Lawyers named Elizabeth Carver to its 2024 Super Lawyers list for appellate litigation. This was her seventeenth time to be included on the list. Carver handles appeals in state and federal courts involving a broad array of substantive law, including employment, banking, class action, product liability, contract, tort, and insurance matters. In 2024, Carver was named to Missouri Lawyers Media’s Power List for Appellate Attorneys for the fourth consecutive year. She is a fellow of the American Academy of Appellate Lawyers.
Super Lawyers named John Comerford to its 2024 Super Lawyers list for business litigation. Comerford has been included on that list since 2018. He is a first-chair trial lawyer whose clients include major electronic equipment suppliers, healthcare providers, large retailers, energy companies, and business owners. Comerford also has tried product liability and toxic tort cases, and represents companies and individuals in criminal investigations. He served as an officer in the U.S. Navy for more than seven years, and was deputy director of the Presidential Emergency Operations Center in the East Wing of the White House.
Super Lawyers named J. Russell Jackson to its 2024 Super Lawyers list for class actions and mass torts. For the last ten years he has taught aggregate litigation at Washington University School of Law as an adjunct professor in addition to his nationwide class action defense practice. Jackson has defeated a number of class actions for a major American insurance company and for a Fortune Global 500 consumer product manufacturer. He is a member of the American Law Institute.
Super Lawyers named Michelle Nasser to its 2024 Super Lawyers list for white collar criminal defense. She was an Assistant U.S. Attorney in Chicago for 13 years, and has conducted 15 federal district court jury trials.
