Ed Dowd, Jim Bennett Honored as “Lawyer of the Year” in Two Key Categories in 30th Edition of Best Lawyers in America®

Founding partners Ed Dowd and Jim Bennett have been named by Best Lawyers® as 2024 “Lawyer of the Year” in two separate categories.

Dowd is being honored as Lawyer of the Year in Corporate Compliance Law in St. Louis.  Ed has previously received this distinction in 2016, 2018, 2020 and 2022.  As stated by Best Lawyers, “Only a single lawyer in each practice area and community is honored with a ‘Lawyer of the Year’ award.”  In addition to receiving Lawyer of the Year, Ed is also being recognized in the areas of Bet-the-Company Litigation, Commercial Litigation and Criminal Defense:  White-Collar.

Bennett is being recognized as Lawyer of the Year for Bet-the-Company Litigation in St. Louis.  This is the third time Jim has received this very high-profile distinction.  “Bet-the-Company” is defined as litigation that has the ability to wreak havoc on a company’s finances and/or reputation, and can ultimately make or break a company.  Additionally, Jim is also being recognized in the areas of Commercial Litigation, Health Care Law and Qui Tam Law.

Both Dowd and Bennett have been recognized by Best Lawyers® for nearly two decades, an achievement bestowed by their peers based on consensus opinion of colleagues within the same geographical and practice areas.
