Terry O’Toole is an experienced civil and criminal litigator who has tried over forty cases to verdict in state and federal courts and utilizes his unique skill set to serve his clients in all aspects of risk management, investigation, case preparation, and trial. Terry’s practice includes representing healthcare providers in all phases of litigation and internal investigations, as well as defending individuals and corporations facing government investigations. Terry also represents short line railroads in catastrophic FELA claims.
Before joining Dowd Bennett, Terry was a partner in another St. Louis law firm for 10 years representing healthcare clients, corporations, and short line railroads in complex civil litigation. Prior to transitioning to civil litigation, Terry served for six years as a prosecutor in St. Louis and Kansas City, where he focused on violent crime and served as a supervisor, and before that he proudly served for six years as a police officer and detective with the University City Police Department.
