Carolina (Cara) Kalberg is an associate attorney at Dowd Bennett with experience in representing clients in both state and federal courts, both in civil and criminal matters. She also represents clients in arbitration forums, including the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA). Cara’s civil litigation practice primarily focuses on contract disputes and employment matters, but Cara also has experience in representing clients in criminal cases, including white collar defense matters and investigations. Cara has extensive experience in pretrial matters, including written discovery and motion practice.
In addition to her general litigation practice, Cara has also developed notable experience in federal appellate matters. Cara has drafted several federal appellate briefs about complex civil and criminal issues. Additionally, Cara has successfully argued a case before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit, in which the Court sided with her client and reversed the district court’s holding.
Before joining Dowd Bennett, Cara was a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Jonathan A. Kobes of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit. In law school, Cara was an Articles Editor for the University of Kansas Law Review. Cara is a member of the Women’s White Collar Defense Association.
