Jim Martin Honored as “ICON” By Missouri Lawyers Media
Dowd Bennett Partner Jim Martin will be honored as a Missouri Lawyers Media ICON along with 27 other lawyers and judges at a luncheon on August 19 at the Missouri Athletic Club. The award is given to distinguished men and women over age 60 who have had “exemplary careers and longstanding commitment to the Missouri legal community.” Before coming to Dowd Bennett in 2014, Jim served as U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Missouri, an office that serves 49 counties and is responsible for prosecuting federal crimes in the district. Prior to this appointment, Jim was a longtime assistant U.S. Attorney where he prosecuted high level cases in the areas of white collar crime, public corruption and tax fraud. His Justice Department service extended to the Office of Special Counsel investigation into the 1993 standoff between law enforcement and the Branch Davidians in Waco, Texas. Since coming to Dowd Bennett, Jim has become one of the firm’s lead attorneys taking on important and high-profile matters related to business lawsuits, white collar charges and issues of corporate governance and compliance. He is the third Dowd Bennett attorney to receive an ICON award.
